🔥 Peering Forum 2025: A Double Anniversary and a New Growth Strategy
The anniversary MSK-IX Peering Forum 2025, held on November 17 at the WTC Congress Center, became a landmark event for the Russian internet industry. In the year marking MSK-IX’s 30th anniversary and the Forum’s 20th anniversary, the platform reaffirmed its status as the country’s main “intellectual hub,” bringing together 860 leaders from telecom, media, and technology companies.
The business program was split into two tracks: Infrastructure and Network Services and Video Stream.
Experts in the first track discussed three inseparable megatrends:
• Smart infrastructure (AI-driven automation)
• Cyber resilience (the ability of systems to operate under attack)
• Hybrid media architectures
The Video Stream track focused on:
• The digital transformation of the media industry
• Cross-platform monetization of TV channels
• New formats, strategies for producing and promoting video content
The Peering Forum remains not just an event, but a catalyst for real change. The technology Anycast DNS, now an industry standard that ensures high resilience against DDoS attacks, originated from discussions at the Forum.
Participants of the anniversary event actively used a dedicated mobile app for networking, voting for the best presentations, and exchanging contacts.
“This anniversary symbolizes the journey from technological pioneering to becoming an architect of the country’s digital ecosystem. The Forum has undergone a complete transformation: from a narrowly-focused engineering meeting into a strategic platform shaping the future of the entire digital industry. This is demonstrated not only by the growing number of partners and media mentions but also by the unprecedented trust of the market”, – said Alexey Kostin, head of the organizing committee.
“Once again, the anniversary Peering Forum showed that the core asset of the Russian internet industry is not just technology, but trust within our professional community. It is this trust that allows competitors to sit at the same table, exchange experience, and jointly build the architecture of the country’s digital sovereignty. We thank all partners, experts, and attendees whose active involvement makes this event a key milestone in the development of the Russian telecom community”, – commented Evgeny Morozov, CEO of MSK-IX.
The Peering Forum will continue to evolve, becoming a ‘digital twin’ of the industry—a continuously active online platform where collaboration and discussion of trends do not end when the event concludes.
As every year, the Forum underscores its significance with impressive statistics.
