🛰 Eutelsat Raises €828 Million to Advance LEO Development
Satellite operator Eutelsat has announced the completion of a €828 million capital raise through a new share issuance. The move, approved by shareholders, is aimed at strengthening the company’s capital structure and funding key strategic projects.
The investment came from several major shareholders:
✔️ French government: €551 million
✔️ UK government: €90 million
✔️ CMA CGM Participations: €100 million
✔️ Bharti Space Limited: €30 million
As a result of this issuance, the French government’s stake and voting rights in the company will reach 29.65%.
The newly raised funds — together with an additional planned issuance of €672 million — will enhance Eutelsat’s financial flexibility and support continued investment in its low Earth orbit (LEO) capabilities.
A significant share of the capital will be allocated to the development of the future IRIS² European satellite constellation.
The company also aims to accelerate its debt reduction efforts.
