☮️ Peace Between Disney and YouTube TV Achieved

Disney and YouTube TV have resolved their high-profile two-week carriage dispute by signing a new multi-year agreement.

Disney channels — including ABC, ESPN, FX, and Disney Channel — were blacked out on October 30. The new deal restores Disney’s full linear portfolio on the platform.

At the center of the conflict was the carriage fee, with Disney reportedly demanding around $10 per subscriber per month for ESPN alone.

YouTube TV will add the upcoming ESPN Unlimited service to its base plan by the end of 2026 at no extra cost.

YouTube TV will also gain the ability to sell a Disney+ and Hulu bundle.

The dispute cost Disney about $30 million in weekly revenue. YouTube TV, aiming to retain subscribers, offered customers a $20 discount.

This became Disney’s longest service interruption on YouTube TV, but the agreement allows the streamer to maintain competitive pricing while keeping premium content.
