🇨🇳 China to Invest 170 Billion Yuan in OLED

Chinese manufacturers have launched a new wave of large-scale investments in next-generation OLED displays. Following the launch of TCL CSOT’s new production line, three more lines are now being built in China.

The total investment from three major Chinese players — Visionox, BOE, and TCL CSOT — exceeds 140 billion yuan. Including Samsung Display, the figure approaches 170 billion yuan.

This signals an imminent intensification of competition in the mid-sized OLED segment (tablets, laptops, monitors) over the next three years.

Due to the capital-intensive nature of these projects, manufacturers must rely on fundraising, underscoring the high barriers to entry in this field.

The mass rollout of new production capacity (from BOE, Visionox, and TCL CSOT) will begin in the second half of 2026 and continue through 2028.

Success will depend on technological competitiveness and the ability to deliver high-quality products.
