⚽️ Spending on Sports Media Rights Is Rising
According to a forecast by Ampere Analysis, global investment in sports media rights will grow by 20% and exceed $78 billion by 2030.
The market expansion is driven by major contract renewals in the US and intensifying competition from global streaming platforms.
The US market will remain the key driver, reaching $36 billion by 2030, supported by the new NBA rights cycle (starting 2025–2026) and potential NFL negotiations.
In Europe, spending will increase by 17% to $21.3 billion. Growing interest from streamers (such as Paramount with the Champions League) will fuel competition in upcoming tenders.
In Asia, spending will rise to $9.9 billion, primarily due to new contracts for Indian cricket.
Analysts emphasize that sports rights remain a “reliable source of value”, and the growing participation of streaming platforms is fundamentally reshaping the global market landscape.
