🧐 Ministry of Culture to Approve Themes for State-Financed Films
The Government Commission on Legislative Activities has approved amendments to the law “On State Support of Cinematography.”
The changes will allow Russia’s Ministry of Culture to annually determine the volume of state financial support allocated to different categories of films, as well as the priority themes eligible for government funding.
According to Vladimir Gruzdev, Chairman of the Board of the Russian Lawyers Association, the document provides for various forms of state support, including full and partial financing of national films that align with these priority themes.
In addition, a provision is being introduced that allows full state financing of the theatrical distribution of animated films for children and adolescents. Previously, this rule applied only to live-action films.
