🤼♀️ The Battle for WBD Intensifies
The potential sale of media giant Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) has moved into the second round of bidding with a new deadline of December 1, as the company has asked all potential buyers to submit higher offers.
The first round, which concluded last week, included Paramount Skydance, Comcast, and Netflix. The second round of bidding may result in WBD entering exclusive negotiations with one of the contenders.
Among the participants, only Paramount is interested in acquiring the entirety of WBD. Comcast and Netflix, by contrast, are interested solely in the company’s studios and streaming businesses. Should a deal be reached with either of them, WBD’s linear TV channels would most likely be spun off into a separate entity or sold to another buyer.
WBD is expected to make its final decision by Christmas.
