📛 Netflix Couldn’t Handle Stranger Things

The streaming platform Netflix “went down” just minutes after the release of the fifth and final season of Stranger Things.

Viewers around the world, who had been waiting for new episodes for more than three years, encountered connection errors.

According to the tracker Downdetector, more than 14,000 outage reports were recorded in the U.S. alone immediately after the release. Reports of account freezes and connection issues also came from India.

Series co-creator Ross Duffer previously stated that Netflix had increased bandwidth by 30% to avoid an outage, but it didn’t help.

The platform confirmed the issue in an email, noting that some users experienced short-term streaming problems on TV devices, but service was restored for all accounts within five minutes.
