๐ฐ Government to Fund New Satellites
The Russian government will allocate 16.7 billion rubles to the Ministry of Digital Development by the end of 2025 to provide state support to the Russian Satellite Communications Company (RSCC).
The order was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
The funds are intended to support the creation of communication and broadcasting satellites for the state civilian geostationary orbital constellation.
The money will be used to sign contracts for the design, manufacture, and advance payments for four new communication and broadcasting spacecraft, as well as for their insurance.
According to a broader program, between 2025 and 2030 the state will allocate a total of 96 billion rubles for the manufacture of spacecraft and 19 billion rubles for launch insurance and the first year of orbital operation.
The RSCC plans to replace eight of its twelve satellites โ whose active service life expires between 2029 and 2036 โ by 2031.
