๐Ÿ“บ TV Screen Sizes Keep Growing as China Slows Down

According to analyst Paul Gray, the average size of new TVs sold in Europe has now reached 65".

The shift toward larger screens is accelerating thanks to manufacturers โ€” especially Chinese brands like TCL and Hisense โ€” actively adopting MiniLED technology.

Despite technological progress, the global share of Ultra HD (4K) TV sales has stabilized at around 70%. Availability of 8K TVs remains limited.

These findings align with an Omdia report showing that global TV shipments in Q3 2025 declined slightly year-on-year (-0.6%), totaling 52.5 million units.

The main reason was a sharp drop in demand in China (-11.2% year-on-year), where government upgrade subsidies have expired.

North America posted a 2.3% increase, while the strongest growth was recorded in Asia and Oceania (+7.7%).

The slowdown in the domestic market is pushing Chinese brands to accelerate their international expansion.
