🧠 Runway Pushes AI Video to a New Level
The text-to-video generation segment has reached a new milestone: Runway’s Gen-4.5 model now makes it possible to create highly realistic videos at minimal cost, challenging the industry's long-standing leaders.
Runway claims that Gen-4.5 delivers “cinematic-quality results.” The model not only accurately reproduces objects, landscapes, and people, but also carefully simulates the physics of moving objects and the behavior of liquids.
The level of realism achieved in Gen-4.5 is such that an untrained viewer may find it difficult to tell the video was generated by AI.
The model also responds better to stylistic cues in text prompts, producing more striking visual effects.
Runway Gen-4.5 has outperformed its main competitors — OpenAI’s Sora 2 Pro and Google’s Veo 3 — and topped Artificial Analysis’s Video Arena ranking of text-to-video AI models.
Some logical inconsistencies (such as object interactions) still remain.
