🔞 Roskomnadzor Warns That Older Age Ratings May No Longer Be Valid
Roskomnadzor has confirmed that due to recent amendments to legislation on protecting children from harmful information, age ratings on film distribution certificates previously issued by the Ministry of Culture may now be outdated.
In recent years, regulations have undergone “dynamic” changes, meaning that age labels assigned several years ago may no longer meet current legal requirements.
Owners of audiovisual services are required to classify content themselves (if the producer has not done so) and ensure that it complies with the law.
If Roskomnadzor detects a violation and issues a request to update the rating, the service must comply—even if it has an existing distribution certificate from the Ministry of Culture. Failure to follow regulator instructions may result in an administrative fine.
