đ Where to Find Talent That Doesnât Exist
Gregory Kuzin, Director of Media Platforms at MSK-IX, explained in an op-ed column why the media market no longer has enough âjust engineersâ and how companies can cultivate specialists âat the intersection of competenciesâ themselves.
The main challenge facing todayâs media industry is the disappearance of boundaries between media, IT, and telecom. Narrow specialists can no longer keep up. Whatâs needed are âhybridsâ who speak two professional languages and understand the entire chainâfrom content to delivery.
The market now demands professionals with a new, holistic mix of competencies, such as âMedia Services Architect,â âData Media Scientist,â or âNeuro-Creator.â
The problem will only intensify as AI continues to advance. Leaders must stop waiting for ideal specialists to appear on the market and instead make hybrid roles a deliberate part of their strategy by investing in upskilling their teams.
âWeâre not looking for an encyclopediaâweâre looking for curiosity about the âother sideâ and for a willingness for a tech specialist to become a creator, or vice versa,â Kuzin notes.
