🥇 YouTube TV to Become the #1 TV Provider in the United States

Analytics firm Omdia predicts a historic transformation of the U.S. pay-TV market: YouTube TV is on track to surpass traditional operators Charter and Comcast, becoming the largest pay-TV provider in the country by 2027.

According to analysts, by the end of 2027 YouTube TV will reach 10.4 million subscribers, compared to 10 million for Charter and 9.2 million for Comcast.

For the first time, the market leader will be a virtual MVPD, not a cable giant.

YouTube TV has evolved into a full-fledged bundle provider with linear channels, premium networks, and major sports rights.

As the world’s largest video ecosystem with 3 billion global users, YouTube gains a unique advantage.

Omdia also notes that the streaming market is highly fragmented. By the end of 2025, Netflix will account for only 15.7% of all SVoD subscriptions in the U.S.

The study points to a decisive shift in the media industry toward hybrid platforms that combine traditional TV with digital content.
