๐Ÿ‘ Viewers Choose New Releases Based on Storylines

According to a survey by MTS Ads Premium Video, film and series content remains the key trend in thematic TV in Russia.

44% of viewers prefer to watch only new TV series, while 75% choose new releases based on an engaging storyline and synopsis.

Detective, thriller, and crime series are favored by 66% of Russian viewers. Comedies (55%) and sci-fi/fantasy (45%) also rank among the top three genres.

Watching TV series is primarily a way to relax and unwind (71%) and to fight boredom (48%). At the same time, 31% of viewers use series as background content.

44% of respondents watch only new releases, while an equal share combine new titles with rewatching proven classics.

The participation of favorite actors motivates 50% of viewers to watch a series.

The most effective channel for promoting TV series remains advertising on websites (43%), followed by social media (40%) and ads on online streaming platforms (39%).
