👋 Wink Launches an AI Assistant
Wink and Rostelecom have launched beta testing of the “Entertainment Agent” service. It is a smart AI assistant designed to solve the problem of endless content choice.
The analytics are stark: if searching for a movie takes longer than eight minutes, the chance that a viewer will actually start watching drops close to zero.
Unlike standard chatbots, the “Agent” understands vague and emotional requests such as “a series for a romantic evening” or “a movie to help me unwind.”
The neural network has analyzed thousands of reviews and user ratings to grasp the context and emotional tone of content. The service remembers the conversation and builds a feed that adapts to the viewing experience of each individual user.
The Entertainment Agent uses LLM models tailored to the nuances of the Russian language and to Rostelecom’s infrastructure.
In the future, the Agent will learn to create personalized highlight trailers and recommend audiobooks. For now, up to 20,000 users of the Wink app on iOS and Android can take part in the beta test.
