🇫🇷 Trillions of Views and Rising Prices in France
According to data from the CNC, France’s paid video market continues to break records: in 2025, its value reached €2.9 billion, three times higher than a decade ago.
At the same time, 86% of revenues are generated by SVoD platforms, dominated by U.S. giants Netflix, Prime Video, and Disney+.
The market is considered “mature,” prompting platforms to shift from chasing subscriber numbers to increasing subscriber value. This has led to sharp price increases: Netflix Premium rose from €15.99 to €21.99, while the cost of a Disney+ subscription increased by 128%.
Nearly half of users subscribe to at least one local VoD service. Free platforms operated by TV broadcasters are also at peak popularity, used by two-thirds of the population aged 15 and over.
Streaming platform libraries now exceed 30,000 titles, but viewer attention is highly concentrated: just the top 500 most popular projects account for two-thirds of all views.
