〽️ Portugal’s Pay-TV Market Posts Record-Low Growth

Portugal’s pay-TV market reached 4.7 million subscribers in the third quarter of 2025. According to data from regulator Anacom, year-on-year growth amounted to just 0.7% — the lowest figure since 2006.

Fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) remains the leading technology, covering 69.2% of the market (3.2 million users). Cable TV (23.7%) and satellite (6%) continue to lose ground.

Almost all subscribers (98.3%) purchase TV as part of a bundle. Interest has shifted toward more complex packages (4-play/5-play), while the traditional triple-play offering recorded a record decline of 7.9%.

Market leaders:

🔸 Meo (Altice) — 42% (market leader with slight growth);
🔸 Nos Group — 35.8% (slight decline);
🔸 Vodafone — 19.3%;
🔸 Digi/Nowo — 2.7%.

The market is approaching saturation, and competition for each customer in the bundled services segment is becoming extremely intense.
