๐ŸŽž Cinema from the CIS Expands its Presence on "Mediabaza"

The catalog of the industrial platform "Mediabaza" has significantly expanded with content from the neighboring countries of the former Soviet Union.

National film studio Belarusfilm, the State Film Center of Kyrgyzstan, and the Kazakh distribution company Movie Service have all uploaded their projects to the platform.

In total, over 100 pieces of content are now available to operators and OTT platforms, some of which were previously not represented in the Russian media market.

Belarusfilm has presented a range of projects aimed at different audience segments. One notable project is the sports drama “Breaking Point”. The film tells the story of a young rower whose career is jeopardized due to an injury. The movie is set to be released in Russian cinemas in March 2026, with rights for TV and online platforms available in the second half of 2026.

The animation sector has been enriched by the film “Song of Sirin,” based on Slavic mythology. Rights for this project will be available to broadcasters and platforms starting January 1, 2026. Also featured in the catalog is the social drama “Class,” about a teacher’s professional journey, which will be accessible to TV channels in March 2026.

The State Film Center of Kyrgyzstan has announced a package of films planned for release on the platform in 2026. Among them is the absurdist comedy “Kyrgyz on Mars,” which has been selected for the Bishkek International Film Festival 2025.

Directors of programming may find interest in historical-adventure projects like “Once Upon a Time in Samarkand,” which centers around the treasure hunt of Amir Timur. Sports content is represented by the drama “Wrestler” and the TV series about women’s hockey, “Flowers on Ice,” which was presented at the Kazan International Film Festival “Golden Minbar.”

Kazakh content on “Mediabaza” is presented by the company Movie Service. The distributor focuses on genre variety, from the documentary series “Vertical,” which covers the success of the Barys hockey club, to large-scale historical action films like “Tomiris” and “Dawn of the Great Steppe.”

To fill the holiday broadcasting slots for February 14th and March 8th, the company has proposed a package of romantic melodramas such as “More Than Love” and “Bride for Rent.” Additionally, the catalog features popular crime dramas, including the duology “Racketeer” and the thriller “Three.” According to the distributor, the company is currently interested in expanding collaborations not only with large services but also with regional television.
