📺 Paid TV in Russia Sees Long-Awaited Growth
The paid television sector in Russia saw a turnaround in 2025: after two years of decline, the subscriber base began to grow again.
According to TMT Consulting, the number of users increased by 0,4%, while revenue jumped by 5,6%—the best result in the past six years.
The main inflow came from bundled subscriptions with home internet. Demand for stable broadband access amid mobile network disruptions also drove growth in IPTV.
Industry revenues grew faster than the subscriber base due to gradual price increases that began in late 2024.
In terms of revenue, Rostelecom maintains first place with a 40% market share, followed by Tricolor (15%) and ER-Telecom (11%).
Despite the positive results, analysts warn that competition from online streaming services remains intense. In the coming years, the market could again face subscriber outflow if it fails to offer unique content.
