According to data from the Entertainment Retailers Association (ERA), the UK entertainment industry ended 2025 with a historic record: revenue from music, video, and games rose by 7.1%, reaching £13.25 billion.
This is four times the growth rate of the overall UK economy.
▶️ Video (£5.43 billion): The largest sector. Revenues from Netflix and Prime Video increased by 8.8%. The best-selling film was Wicked.
🕹 Games (£5.36 billion): The sector posted its strongest growth since the pandemic (+7.4%). The top-selling title was FC 26 (nearly 2 million copies). Mobile games generated £1.88 billion.
🎸 Music (£2.45 billion): Streaming accounted for more than £2 billion, but vinyl was the surprise performer, with sales jumping 18.5%. Taylor Swift retained her status as the queen of the charts for the second year in a row.
ERA experts note that the pandemic permanently changed consumer habits: over the past 10 years, the entertainment market has grown by 120%. Streaming has become not just a convenience, but the main driver of the creative economy.
