🤺 HBO Max Takes Over Europe

Warner Bros. Discovery has officially launched HBO Max in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Greece, and Israel, bringing the service to more than 100 countries worldwide.

This is a key step toward the platform’s full global expansion.

In Germany, the service is available through Amazon Prime Video, RTL+, and waipu.tv, while in Switzerland it is offered via Sunrise and Swisscom.

In Germany and Austria, subscriptions range from €5.99 (ad-supported) to €16.99 (premium). Starting January 19, the prequel to Game of Thrones – A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms – will premiere, alongside hits like Industry and local German productions such as Bankers and 4 Blocks: Zero.

HBO Max will broadcast the 2026 Winter Olympic Games in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo live. A sports add-on will also provide access to the Australian Open and the Grand Tour cycling races.

By the end of 2025, WBD’s streaming services had already reached 128 million subscribers.
