🎨 Russian Animation to Receive 100% State Funding

The State Duma is preparing to put children's live-action films and cartoons on equal footing.

The Culture Committee has recommended approving a bill that will allow the state to fully fund the production and distribution of national animated films for children and youth.

Currently, only creators of feature films can count on 100% budget funding. Animators have had to seek co-financing, which slowed down the release of new projects.

The new rules will enable the Ministry of Culture to fully cover costs for content aimed at fostering and promoting traditional values.

The initiative’s authors emphasize that animation is a crucial tool for influencing the younger generation, so financial barriers to its creation must be removed.
