πŸ›’ Wink Acquires Smotreka

Online cinema Wink (joint venture of Rostelecom and NMG) has officially acquired video service Smotreka.

The deal closed on January 19: Wink now owns 100% of Lifestream company. Experts estimate the purchase price at 3.5-4 billion rubles.

Smotreka leads the B2B2C segment. It provides TV services (550+ channels) to local internet providers, holding 60-68% market share.

This gives Wink access to a unique paying audience with high engagement (users average 4.1 hours of daily viewing).

For Wink, this is entry into a new segment. Smotreka will retain its brand, team, and current tariffs for subscribers.

Wink continues strengthening its position in Russia’s top-3 streaming services. It previously successfully acquired more.tv, integrating its library into its platform.
