🏆 Sinners Sets Historic Oscar Nominations Record

Ryan Coogler's drama Sinners has made history by receiving 16 Oscar nominations.

This is the absolute record for the awards’ entire existence, surpassing the achievements of Titanic, All About Eve, and La La Land (each had 14).

The film’s main achievements:

❗️ Ryan Coogler earns his first nominations as director and screenwriter. He becomes only the seventh Black director in history to receive this honor.

❗️ Actor Michael B. Jordan receives his first Oscar nomination, playing dual roles as twins Smoke and Stack Moore in the film.

❗️ Veterans from Coogler’s team return to the awards race – composer Ludwig Göransson and costume designer Ruth Carter.

❗️ The film is nominated in the historic first “Best Casting” category (Francine Maisler).

Despite its frontrunner status, Sinners faces serious competition from the war epic One Battle After Another, which already won the top prizes at the Golden Globes and Critics Choice.

Winners will be announced at the March ceremony.
