📛 Actors Launch Campaign Against AI

Hollywood stars have declared war on tech giants. The “Stealing Isn’t Innovation” campaign, launched by the Human Artistry Campaign, has united more than 700 actors, musicians, and writers.

Celebrities including Scarlett Johansson, Cate Blanchett, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt accuse AI developers of massively using copyrighted works to train models without permission or payment.

The initiative is backed by:

✊ Actors: Sean Astin, Olivia Munn, Kristen Bell
✊ Musicians: Cyndi Lauper, R.E.M., Questlove
✊ Writers: Jonathan Franzen, Roxane Gay
✊ Organisations: SAG-AFTRA, the WGA, and even the NFL Players Association

“Big Tech is trying to change the law so they can keep stealing American art,” the manifesto states. Activists are demanding a licensing system that would let creators decide for themselves whether their work is fed to algorithms.

So far, only Disney has struck a deal with OpenAI, licensing its characters for Sora.
