💶 European Drama Series to Receive Strong Backing

The Council of Europe (through the Eurimages fund) and the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) have announced a joint initiative to support high‑quality drama series at the earliest stages of development.

The project connects producers and creators with Europe’s major public broadcasters right from the concept phase, helping to build stories with strong international potential.

Applications will open in early 2026. A jury will select five projects for pitching, and one or two winners will receive €50,000 each for further development.

The selected series will gain expert guidance from leading industry professionals and first‑look opportunities from participating EBU broadcasters.

This marks a strategic step to strengthen European television content in the face of fierce global competition from major streaming platforms.
