👑 Disney Names Its New King

The saga over Bob Iger’s successor has officially concluded. The Walt Disney Co. board of directors has announced that Josh D’Amaro, current head of the Parks and Consumer Products division, will become the new CEO.

D’Amaro will officially take the role on March 18, 2026, following the annual shareholder meeting.

Bob Iger will remain with the company as an advisor and board member until his final departure on December 31, 2026.

D’Amaro’s rival for the position, Dana Walden, has been appointed President and Chief Creative Officer of Disney, reporting directly to D’Amaro.

Josh D’Amaro has been with Disney since 1998, rising from a Disneyland employee to lead the company’s most profitable division. Disney is currently investing $60 billion in park expansions. Iger praised him as the ideal leader, blending operational expertise with a deep understanding of the brand’s magic.
