🎬 Creative industries’ contribution to GDP reaches 4.2%
Rosstat summarizes 2025 results for Russia’s creative economy. The sector shows solid growth: gross value added reached 8.6 trillion rubles, and its share of GDP rose to 4.2% (from 3.9% a year earlier).
Key drivers of the sector’s ascent:
🔹IT sector: almost 40% (39.29%) of the contribution came from software development
🔹Advertising and PR: second place with 15.08%
🔹Arts: performing arts contributed 11.31%
🔹Media and cinema: collectively nearly 8%
Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak noted the goal of reaching 6% of GDP by 2030. He said creative industries are becoming a powerful economic driver thanks to small business activity and youth talent.
The sector is gradually transforming from “entertainment” to strategically important for the country.
