The Disney Animation sequel has officially become the highest-grossing film of 2025 in the United States, earning 424.2 million dollars and edging out Minecraft.
However, that’s just the tip of the iceberg: the animated film is rewriting box-office history across the entire industry.
Worldwide grosses: the film has already earned a staggering 1.85 billion dollars, making it the highest-grossing animated movie in history (unadjusted for inflation).
Speed: it became the fastest animated film ever to cross the 1 billion dollar mark worldwide, reaching the milestone in just 17 days.
China phenomenon: Zootopia 2 has become the highest-grossing Western film ever released in China, earning more than 650 million dollars there and surpassing even the final Avengers.
Despite debuting on streaming platforms two weeks ago, the film has remained in the top 10 at the box office for 13 consecutive weeks. It now ranks eighth on the list of the highest-grossing Hollywood films of all time.
