🔥 Olympics on Okko draws 8 million viewers

The 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan made history for Russian broadcasting: for the first time, exclusive rights belonged not to TV channels, but to streaming service Okko.

Despite the neutral status of the athletes, audience interest exceeded all expectations.

Key Olympics stats:

👁 Reach. Broadcasts were watched by 8 million people. The service’s weekly audience jumped 2.4 times.

🏆 Record. Peak viewership for the Olympics beat the previous all-time high – set by the 2025 Champions League final – by 25%.

⛸ What drew viewers. Figure skating was the undisputed leader, accounting for a third of total watch time. The top 5 also included hockey (16%), skiing, biathlon and curling.

The exclusive broadcast also changed the viewer profile: interest from women doubled, and the age range expanded to include the 75+ demographic.

Okko notes that sports content has become a powerful driver for the entire service ecosystem.
