🧠 Soyuzmultfilm aims for metaverses and AI

The legendary studio has approved a development strategy that will transform it into a global brand holding, where animation becomes just one part of a broader ecosystem and the main goal is to build product universes around each character.

Cartoons are no longer the core focus. Because of high production costs, animated series will move to third or even fourth place in the pipeline, with priority given to live-action films, short‑form content, toys and video games.

The studio plans to expand its presence through its own theme parks, live shows and stage productions.

Soyuzmultfilm will give users access to key assets (characters, locations, voices) so they can generate their own content using AI tools, while the studio itself will embed neural networks into its production workflows.

Chair of the Soyuzmultfilm board Yuliana Slashcheva emphasized that series will now be produced only on the basis of already successful hits, in order to minimize risk and support licensed merchandise sales.
