🇰🇷 The King’s Warden heads toward a Korean box office milestone
Historical drama The King’s Warden continues its absolute domination of South Korean cinemas.
Over the weekend of 27 February to 1 March, the film captured an incredible 82% of total box office revenue, earning 11.8 million dollars.
Key weekend numbers:
1️⃣ Leader. The story of protecting a deposed young king has already grossed 56 million dollars and drawn nearly 8.5 million moviegoers, leaving it just short of the coveted 10‑million‑admissions mark that defines a true mega‑hit in Korea.
2️⃣ Second place. Ryoo Seung-wan’s espionage thriller Humint is holding its ground with a cumulative gross of 12.6 million dollars.
3️⃣ New entry. In third place, the live‑action remake of the cult anime 5 Centimeters per Second debuted with 383,000 dollars over its first few days in release.
Also making the top 10 were horror sequel 28 Years Later: Temple of Bones and Chinese blockbuster Ne Zha 2. Overall market revenue for the weekend climbed to 14.4 million dollars.
