🏴‍☠️ Piracy in Russia is on the decline

The market for illegal video content in Russia shrank by 5.5% in 2025, falling to 34.4 million dollars.

At the same time, interest in legal online cinemas grew by 27.6%, while traffic to pirate resources decreased.

Over the year, 304,500 illegal pages were blocked — almost three times more than the year before.

The share of “black” advertising (casinos, bookmakers) dropped to 11%. Now, 89% of ads on pirate sites come from major legitimate brands.

Pirates have begun using AI to rewrite film descriptions in order to trick search-engine filters.

Around 40% of pirate sites contain malicious code.

Despite declining revenues for market leaders, experts warn that piracy quickly regenerates and adapts to new conditions.
