🛰 Express-AT1 Officially Declared Lost
The Russian Satellite Communications Company (RSCC) has confirmed the loss of the Express‑AT1 telecommunications satellite. The failure occurred back on March 4, when the spacecraft suddenly went offline for unknown reasons.
Engineers from RSCC and JSC Reshetnev attempted to restore its systems but were unable to bring the satellite back into operation.
Some subscribers will regain access to TV services in the coming days, though they will need to retune their antennas to a different orbital position. Others may have to wait up to a month for full broadcasting to resume.
A replacement satellite, Express‑AT3, is already in preparation. It is expected to cover the same service area but will not be launched until late 2030. The RSCC plans to finance the project using its own funds.
Meanwhile, the Medialogistika platform has announced its readiness to quickly provide terrestrial delivery of TV signals for partners.
