🔝 YouTube Becomes the New King of Media
The year 2025 was historic for YouTube: the video platform has officially been recognized as the world’s largest media company.
According to analysts at MoffettNathanson, its revenue last year reached a record 62 billion dollars, allowing it to overtake Disney’s media business at 60.9 billion dollars.
Advertising brought in more than 40 billion dollars in revenue. YouTube TV already counts around 10 million subscribers and is poised to challenge U.S. cable leaders Comcast and Charter.
The platform has paid out over 100 billion dollars to creators and partners over its lifetime.
YouTube’s market value is estimated at 500–560 billion dollars, significantly higher than Netflix’s 409 billion.
While traditional media giants are slowing down, YouTube is accelerating thanks to investment in AI tools that help creators produce content faster and cheaper.
YouTube CEO Neal Mohan emphasizes that the secret of success lies in combining technology with human storytelling.
It seems that in the race for audience attention, the frontrunner has been determined for years to come.
