▶️ AI and FAST emerge as the new engines of the media business

A new Amagi report confirms that the media industry is undergoing a tectonic shift: applied AI is moving out of the experimental phase and into the core of day‑to‑day operations.

Key trends in Q4 2025:

  • Explosive FAST growth. Viewing of free, ad‑supported streaming TV channels (FAST) grew 21% year‑on‑year, while ad impressions rose 27%. Latin America led the way, with hours of viewing up 66%.
  • AI everywhere. Senior executives are deploying AI for routine, high‑volume tasks: metadata enrichment, context tagging and targeting, subtitling and translation, and social media publishing.
  • Real‑time efficiency. AI is increasingly embedded directly into content workflows, flagging QC issues, triggering localization, checking rights compliance and identifying monetization opportunities in real time.

Amagi co‑founder Srinivasan K.A. argues: “Integrating AI into localization and monetization is a structural shift on par with the industry’s move from linear broadcast to streaming. The future belongs to those who build intelligence straight into the workflow.”
