Sony and Marvel have rewritten internet history. The trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day racked up an astonishing 718.6 million views in its first 24 hours.
Peter Parker has overtaken not only Deadpool & Wolverine but also the mega-hit GTA VI, becoming the most-viewed video trailer in human history. For context, it surpassed the previous record holder in just 8 hours.
The new chapter picks up 4 years after the events of No Way Home. An older Peter lives in complete isolation, erased from the memories of his loved ones. He has devoted himself entirely to protecting New York, but the immense pressure triggers a dangerous physical mutation that threatens his life.
Joining Tom Holland and Zendaya are Sadie Sink, Jon Bernthal and Mark Ruffalo. The blockbuster is slated for release on July 31.
