๐Ÿ‘ง IRI to invest in children's and teen content

The Internet Development Institute (IRI) will allocate 5.1 billion rubles through 2027 to create 35 projects targeting audiences under 14.

The lineup includes 11 live-action series, 18 animated series and 6 mobile games. The goal goes beyond entertainment: to “develop critical thinking, emotional intelligence and instill traditional values” in children.

Flagship projects include a continuation of the neuro-animated series about fox Herman and the hares, plus the game Bodo vs. Trolls, which teaches cybersecurity in partnership with Kaspersky Lab experts.

Experts note that after Western majors exited the market, there’s been a shortage of specifically family-friendly content. While the industry successfully serves preschoolers, the teen niche (10-15 years) still lacks quality domestic stories. The average project budget of 145 million rubles is considered moderate but sufficient for a strong start.
